SMOOTH SKIN BARE +: At home Hair Reduction Device / IPL Device
Okay so we all the know the best online commercial website to sell everything and finds is on Amazon. I went on Amazon and browsed for at home laser devices. The first thing that popped was an at home IPL device. WHAT IS AN IPL DEVICE? IPL stands for Intense Pulse Light. So this light based technology penetrates into your skin and targets the dark hair, mind you dark hair on a light skin tone, wherein with its over time use that is once a week on a shaved skin. So what that the device needs a visible target for the flash light to work. The claims here are that it slows down the hair growth and the results would be visible within once in four weeks use. Thus affecting the hair growth cycle.
On Amazon India, the Amazon’s choice was the smooth skin bare+
So this is a British make and it was priced at Rs. 19,999/-. Considering the amount we spent on smart gadgets these days and also the reviews and ratings, I found that it was decently priced. I placed my order. The package arrived within a weeks time. It fair enough to say that it is not sponsored and so I share my unbiased opinion on the device.

Premium packaging I must say. The box is sturdy enough, as a lasting case for the device. As I opened the box we have the device and other accessories to go with the device along with the Device Manual.
So as I moved the device out of the box with its accessories as captioned in the above image. I spread it on a table top for a better visual of what all was sitting inside the pretty black box.
First thing first, the cord is long enough for you to comfortably work on the targeted area at ease. The cord is connected to the adapter and then we have a short cord which is to be connected to the adapter port and the two pin go into the socket to power the device. There is no power on and off button. Once plugged in it is on. So you prep your skin my have a close clean shave and as the device comes in contact with your skin the ring around the flash button is lit with an LED light and you are ready to flash.
Upon continuously pressing the button you can smoothly glide the device along your legs and arms or any area desired to see visible results. In case the skin is not fully encased in the window where the flash releases the ring around the button turns red, which means the device will not release any flash as the skin is not entirely fit within the window of the device.
The is smart in it self as the above picture clearly shows how this proves to be a safety feature. The window has a led light to sense or detect if the skin is fully encased within the window.
The whole idea of purchasing this handy device was to get the work done within the confinement of my home without having to visit a clinic for a laser treatment or schedule an appointment at the salon for a waxing session. Now the question here is, “Did it meet my expectations?” “Was it worth the purchase?” and “Did stand by its claims?”.
So why I ordered this device was solely for the purpose of targeting my facial hair. Although I saw visible results on my arms and legs. That too not with one pass but with two to three passes in one session. I am not stating here that is not potent enough, but to see visible results must have patience. Facial skin and also hair texture is different from the rest of the body. For an at home laser device I found it quite useful for the rest of my body and not my face, which led me to yet another purchase. I will review my next device in my next blog.
Pros: Long Cord; Ease of Operation; Unlimited Flashes; sturdy box for storage.
Con: Hardly any, only that I did not see visible results on my facial hair
